Tom by Small Robot Company was a lightweight autonomous scouting robot designed to map every individual plant in arable fields. Using high-resolution cameras and AI, Tom created per-plant maps showing crop health, weed presence, disease symptoms, and growth stage.
This per-plant data fed into the Wilma AI platform, which generated precision treatment maps for targeted intervention. The vision of per-plant farming was ahead of its time, but the company was unable to scale commercially.
