Lely

Lely is a Dutch agricultural technology company and the global pioneer of robotic milking systems. Founded in 1948 by brothers Cornelis and Arij van der Lely in Maassluis, Netherlands, Lely remains privately held and family-owned.

Their Astronaut robotic milking system (first commercial launch in 1995) is the world’s best-selling automatic milking robot, with over 50,000 units installed. The system allows cows to be milked voluntarily, improving animal welfare and farmer quality of life. The latest model is the Astronaut A5 Next.

Beyond milking, Lely offers the Vector automatic feeding system, Discovery barn cleaning robots, Juno automatic feed pusher, and Horizon farm management platform. With approximately 135,000 robots deployed across 50+ countries and 2,500 employees, Lely reported EUR 1,014 million in revenue in 2025.
