Sarcos Guardian XT

Our Verdict: Unmatched dexterity for remote manipulation tasks, bridging the gap between inspection and actual maintenance.

The Sarcos Guardian XT is a teleoperated robotic upper body (torso with two arms) designed for remote inspection and maintenance tasks in environments too dangerous for human workers. The operator controls the robot’s dual 7-DOF arms using an intuitive control suit that maps human arm movements to the robot in real time.

Mountable on various mobile platforms including tracked vehicles, aerial work platforms, and fixed pedestals, the Guardian XT can manipulate tools, turn valves, and perform dexterous tasks at remote or elevated locations. Force feedback to the operator provides a sense of touch for delicate operations.
