Samsung Ballie

Our Verdict: An ambitious concept that never shipped. After 6 years of announcements and delays, Samsung indefinitely shelved Ballie in January 2026. The projector-plus-robot idea remains genuinely innovative — if it ever becomes real.

Samsung Ballie is a rolling companion robot concept that doubles as a smart home hub. First unveiled at CES 2020 as a tennis-ball-sized concept, it was reintroduced at CES 2024 in a larger bowling-ball form with a built-in 1080p dual-lens projector, Google Gemini AI integration, and full SmartThings ecosystem control.

Important: As of January 2026, Bloomberg reports Samsung has indefinitely shelved Ballie. The product was absent from CES 2026, Samsung’s US product page has been removed, and the company reclassified it as an “internal innovation platform.” No consumer units have ever shipped despite being first announced in 2020. No official price has been announced.
