Abundant Robotics Apple Harvester
Vacuum-based apple harvester using pneumatic suction for bruise-free autonomous fruit picking.
⚠ Note: Iron Ox ceased operations in June 2024. The company shut down after failing to secure additional funding. Its greenhouse automation technology is no longer commercially available or supported.
The Iron Ox Grover was an autonomous mobile robot designed for indoor greenhouse and controlled environment agriculture (CEA). It navigated hydroponic grow facilities, handling the heavy lifting of moving grow trays between planting, growing, and harvesting stations while monitoring plant health along the way.
Working in concert with Iron Ox’s AI-powered growing platform, Grover enabled a largely automated greenhouse operation where crops were monitored 24/7 by sensors and AI, with the robot handling physical tasks that traditionally required manual labor.
| Environment | Indoor greenhouse / CEA |
|---|---|
| Tasks | Tray transport, monitoring, data collection |
| Payload | Up to 1,000 lbs per tray |
| Navigation | LIDAR + machine vision |
| AI | Per-plant health monitoring |
| Battery Life | 12 hours with auto-charging |
| Integration | Iron Ox growing platform |
