DJI Air 3S

Our Verdict: The sweet spot in DJI's lineup. A 1-inch sensor, forward LiDAR, and 45-minute flight at $1,099 makes the Mavic a harder sell for most users.

The DJI Air 3S is the first consumer DJI drone with forward-facing LiDAR, enabling professional-grade nightscape obstacle sensing. Its dual-camera system pairs a 50MP 1-inch CMOS wide-angle (f/1.8) with a 48MP 70mm medium telephoto, delivering 14 stops of dynamic range and 4K/60fps HDR video.

With 45 minutes of flight time, O4 transmission to 20km, and 4K/120fps slow-motion capability, it offers the best balance of performance and portability in DJI’s lineup. The 1-inch sensor is a significant upgrade over the Air 3, making it a genuine alternative to the Mavic series for many users.
