Ryze Tello

Our Verdict: The drone that taught a generation to code. Still the best way to introduce kids to both drones and programming, while stock lasts.

The Ryze Tello, developed in partnership with DJI and Intel, remains the gold standard for educational drones. DJI provides the flight stabilisation technology for rock-solid hovering, while Intel powers the onboard processor. At just 80 grams, it’s one of the safest drones to fly indoors.

What makes the Tello special is its programmability, students can code flight paths in Scratch, Python, or Swift through the Tello SDK. Schools and coding clubs worldwide use Tello drones to teach programming concepts. While production has ended, units are still available through third-party retailers.
