John Deere 8R Autonomous Tractor

The John Deere 8R Autonomous Tractor is the first full-size production-ready autonomous tractor from a major manufacturer. Based on the proven 8R platform with up to 410 HP, it adds six pairs of stereo cameras providing 360-degree obstacle detection, GPS RTK guidance, and full autonomous operation for tillage, planting, and other field operations.

Farmers set up the tractor via the John Deere Operations Center mobile app, defining field boundaries and operations. The tractor then works autonomously while the farmer monitors progress remotely and handles other farm tasks. If an obstacle is detected, the tractor stops and alerts the farmer via the app for a decision before proceeding.
