Our Verdict: The most capable obstacle-crossing robot vacuum you can buy, and it undercuts the Roborock flagships. Legs are the real feature, not marketing.

The X50 Ultra is Dreame’s answer to the height problem, and it answers it twice. ProLeap gives the robot retractable legs that lift it over obstacles up to 6cm — roughly 2.4 inches — which covers thresholds and low steps that strand every conventional machine. VersaLift then does the opposite, lowering the body to 3.5 inches so it can navigate under furniture.

Cleaning is flagship grade at 20,000Pa, and the DuoBrush system is rated for hair up to 11.8 inches long without tangling, which matters in households with long hair or heavy shedding.

It is not a stair climber. No consumer robot vacuum is. But of the machines you can actually buy, it clears the most.
